Costumes from yesterday for today's fashion.

Over the next few weeks I will be adding our costume images to the website along with reproduction items. The first 2 images are between 1800's to 1920's
Quite strange how today the fashions appear to be new designs but trace back but a few steps of history in fashion & you will uncover the secret there is no new fashion, do any look familiar? Apart from the hats, most of the clothing with the gathered & tiered skirts or blouses seem very bohemian, that is what today's fashion calls boho, gypsy or 1970's styled.

The start of my reproduction items for sale has already been popular with 2 sales in the USA this month of the * 'Lady Dragonaire' *Handcrafted Vintage style Adornment for a Costume. A Stunning piece for Carriage Driving or Period, Medieval, Renaissance Costumes. Featuring a 12mm Aurora Borealis faceted shimmering bead, lovely coloured feathers & brass/gold toned filigree crystal holder, amongst other quality items. Length approx. 13" or 33 cms. All pins have end protectors. Available for $13.99 in the hatpin section of our site.

These rare to find hatpin advertisements are taken from a very old 1900's Catalogue, which needed alot of image enhancements and repair of which Sam ( my husband) painstakingly repaired for viewing as a part of my history of hatpins. It has written along the top of the page - Sears,Roebuck & Co. (INC.), Cheapest Supply House on Earth, Chicago.CATALOGUE No.110 -- page 118

Please Note:-all of these images are part of my Vintage Clothing Collection photos which are circa 1800 - 1920 & are originally of public domain but they have been altered & enhanced & repaired by us & remains the property of Janis Carleton Allen copyright 2009
